Wellness Wednesday Week 112: Unsupported Abdominal Lift Lotus Pose/ Niralamba Jathara Padmasana


Stretches legs.

Can help body prepare for inversions.

Strengthens back and shoulders.

Foundation & General Alignment:

Start in plow pose, cross legs into lotus pose for and bring legs up over head.

Body is balancing on shoulders.

Head is also being used to help balance.

Neck is flat on ground.

Shoulders are back and away from ears.

Back is curved over with legs.

Arms are up by knees.

Common Problems:

Weight isn’t evenly distributed on shoulders.


Arms can be on ground for balance.
