Full Moon October 13 Opens The Way For Powerful Transformation

The Full Moon in Aries on Sunday, October 13, forms a powerful and transformative T-square in the heavens. A T-square occurs when 3 planets in 3 different constellations create square angles with each other. A T-square configuration, especially when it coincides with a Full Moon, can create tension in the atmosphere as the tides are higher and water in our bodies swells to create a feeling of pressure.

The planets involved in the October 13 T-square are the Sun in Libra, opposed to the Moon in Aries. The third planet squaring the Sun and Moon is profound and transformative Pluto in Capricorn. When Pluto is involved in a celestial configuration, especially with a Full Moon, it brings repressed feelings and ego drives to the fore.

On October 13, this will mean that feelings and desires you have been nurturing on the back burner of your mind will suddenly be on the front burner. Prior to the Full Moon, please make sure that your front-burner issues are truly your long-term priorities. It may be important to yield at times to others under this celestial alignment, because others' repressed feelings and desires will also be catapulted suddenly to the front burner, causing a potential clash with your repressed feelings and desires. So, with everyone’s stored feelings and desires coming to the surface at once, there could potentially be some collisions for you to avoid.

Before taking decisive action in potentially conflictual situations, make sure to consider the level of importance of your needs—as well as the needs of the other people involved in a particular situation. Therefore, if your need level is a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10, and your partner’s need is a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10, you will understand the need for a greater level of compromise with your significant other, colleague, or collaborator.

To add to the steaminess and pressure of the upcoming Full Moon, the three planets involved in the T-Square are placed in what are called “cardinal” signs. There are three types of astrological signs in astrology. They are called cardinal, fixed, and mutable.

What Are Cardinal Signs?

Cardinal signs include the first zodiac sign at each change season: Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. Aries is the first month of Spring; Cancer is the first month of Summer; Libra is the first month of Autumn; and Capricorn is the first month of winter.

Cardinal signs are so named because they are the zodiacal signs that initiate each change of season. Commensurately, people born under the cardinal signs also enjoy initiating new activity. Thus, during the Cardinal T-Square in Aries, Libra, and Capricorn, the energy will be strong for many people to implement new ideas and make changes to the status quo. This will be especially true for people born under the cardinal constellations of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. The tension created by the alignment with the Full Moon also could heighten emotions. Everyone may perceive situations out of proportion to their true, long-term impact.

What Are Fixed Signs?

Fixed signs are the second zodiac sign of each season: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. Taurus is the second month of Spring; Leo is the second month of Summer; Scorpio is the second month of Autumn; and Aquarius is the second month of Winter.

Fixed signs are so named because they stabilize and hold the energy of the new season in an unchangeable pattern. Similarly, people born under the fixed signs are relatively fixed or unchangeable. They can easily repeat their fixed patterns without changing. Due to their fixity, people born under the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius will feel less impacted by the Cardinal T-Square than the other signs of the zodiac.

What Are Mutable Signs?

Mutable signs are the third and final zodiac sign of each season: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. Gemini is the final month of Spring; Virgo is the final month of Summer; Sagittarius is the final month of Autumn; and Pisces is the final month of Winter.

Given that the last month of a season is the bridge between the old and the new season beginning under the subsequent constellation, mutable signs are very flexible and changeable. They are impressionable and easily influenced by the energy of others. Thus, the mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces are likely to be affected almost as much as the cardinal signs will be—because almost everything, even small influences, does impact the open and sensitive mutable signs. Thus, the energy of the Cardinal T-Square at the Full Moon will significantly impact the mutable signs as they react to the changes initiated by the cardinal energies of Aries, Libra, and Capricorn unleashed at the Full Moon. Due to their mutability, the mutable signs may even initiate a few changes themselves. Given that all signs ultimately influence each other, as we all are connected on a deeper level, the Full Moon’s reverberations will resonate with everyone and initiate new levels of change and experience for everyone.

Qualities & Constellations In the Full Moon Cardinal T-Square

The constellations involved in the Full Moon Cardinal T-square also represent three diverse qualities.

  • Libra (Sun Sign at the Full Moon Cardinal T-square) is an air sign that promotes peace and harmony through the mental processes. Depending upon the factors involved, over time, equality, balance, harmony, and symmetry will be created.
  • Aries (Moon Sign at the Full Moon Cardinal T-square) is a fire sign that promotes forward movement through initiating action. Depending upon the mental idea behind the action, success, longevity, and/or failure will result.
  • Capricorn (Pluto’s Sign at the Full Moon Cardinal T-square) is an earth sign that promotes destruction of the old to make way for the creativity that will transform the present and create a new future. Overall, this period in human history is a time of destruction of the past and the old way of doing things to make way for a more innovative, creative, and conscious future—even if it does not appear so from our present vantage point. When transformative Pluto is in Capricorn, issues of power, control, systems, and structures rises to the fore. There is an absolute imperative to readjust power dynamics. Often, those in power will lose power. Those who have been disenfranchised will gain power—eventually.

Aries Full Moon

Make sure to listen to your feelings under this Full Moon, but also wait to react to perceptions until the Full Moon energy has passed, at least 1 or 2 days later. You may find that your perspective has significantly shifted as the cosmic tension diminishes.

This Full Moon also is the first Full Moon after the Harvest Moon on September 13 and the Autumn Equinox on September 23. As a result, the Moon will rise close to the equator and therefore will appear somewhat larger than normal. The extra lunar rays hitting the surface of the Earth will give even more power to the Lunar configuration. Make sure to have a strategy for soothing your nerves under this powerful Full Moon—soothing essential oils, yoga postures, deep breathing, lavender bath, meditation, or prayer. The Sun is in Libra—the sign of balance—so it will be worth the extra effort to maintain your own balance and equilibrium under the upcoming Full Moon Cardinal T-Square. You will develop greater personal power and effectiveness this way!
