Knees Chest Chin Pose
Benefits:
Is a gentle backbend.
Can help open chest.
Strengthens arms.
Foundation & General Alignment:
Can start lying down or in a plank position. Bring your knees, chest, and chin to the ground.
Rest of body (besides hands and feet) is not touching ground.
Feet are flexed and the balls of your feet are your base.
Knees are on ground, whole body weight is not resting on them.
Legs are engaged and off the floor.
Pelvis is raised up.
Back is curving away from ground.
Hands are by rib cage and pressing evenly into ground.
Shoulders are pulling away from ground
Chest is gently resting on ground.
Chin is also resting on ground.
Head is looking straight ahead.
Common Problems:
Shoulders are also touching ground.
Weight is not being evenly distributed through body parts that are making contact with the ground.
Modifications:
Can be done with blankets under knees.
