We all have those days when finding energy throughout the day is as hard to find as a needle in a haystack. You know -- those mornings when you just can’t seem to get yourself up and motivated. Stop reaching for the caffeine and sugary snacks; they’re not what your body really needs. Take a look at these five ways to naturally boost your energy.
Lemon Water – I’m sure you’ve heard this before and that’s because it works. Lemon water works better for me than a cup of joe. The water will rehydrate you in the morning, waking up all your insides. The lemon acts as the energy provider, giving the necessary electrolytes to your cells in order for them to create energy. It’s packed with vitamin C which turns fat into energy, so you just can’t go wrong with it. If you want to sweeten it up a bit, I suggest using raw honey which will also provide a nice boost.
Nuts – You likely know that nuts contain fiber (which helps balance your body’s blood sugars), as well as protein (which is a natural energy source), and that they help build body tissue. But did you know that it’s the magnesium in nuts that you really want? Magnesium converts the body’s sugar into energy; almonds, cashews, and hazelnuts all contain high amounts of magnesium.
Fruits – The natural sugars in fruit are a good source of clean energy. Blueberries will help you focus, while strawberries are packed with a high dose of vitamin C. This is one of the reasons people enjoy smoothies: you can mix and match the fruits based on what your body needs. Fruits containing iodine, like pineapple, are awesome for helping control how fast your body uses your energy reserves.
Take A Walk Outside – I like to go out every morning and greet the day walking barefoot on the cool grass. I feel as though it provides more of a connection with the energy of the Earth. The fresh air will lift you up, providing incredible amounts of oxygen to your body and your brain. The sounds of nature so full of life or even the bustle of the town will help give your body a boost and wake up all your senses.
Go For A Swim – Any form of exercise will get you up and going. Exercise is one of the best ways to create energy. The water, even though it’s peaceful, helps stimulate your senses. Water itself is known to many as a natural energy source. The vibrations cascading from the ripples will send tiny waves of energy over you.
There are many ways out there that you can provide natural and safe energy to your body. Our bodies need energy in all aspects: physical, mental, and emotional. When you have positive energy flowing through you, you are bound to have a great day. Even if your day isn’t so great you will have the necessary energy to get through the day feeling good.
