September’s Bounty: 10 Must-Have Seasonal Produce Items

In all honesty, September always gives me mixed emotions. Let’s face it; it’s a strange month. We’re all too focused on savoring every last bit of that familiar summer breeze before we part ways, until next year. Tomato season is officially in full bloom, and apart from making salsas, pasta sauces and BLTs, bruschetta is another great way to serve up this year’s bounty. Traditional Recaito

This recipe makes one quart and only takes about 15 minutes to make.

2 Medium Spanish Onions

Well Seasoned - A Cooking With Cast Iron Series: Veggie Breakfast Scrambler

What I love about this recipe is how flexible it is. Whatever it is you want to add to your scrambler you can simply add and make adjustments. A meat lover could add meat to the equation and the dish would work the same. Sometimes I only use salt and pepper while other times I spice it up. It truly makes a great campfire breakfast!

This one pan veggie breakfast scrambler is incredible -- it’s a hearty meal perfect for an autumn morning.

6 Large Brown Eggs

 6 Medium Potatoes

1 Sweet Onion

1 Clove Garlic

While there are several healthy pasta varieties that are making a comeback, one of the healthiest alternatives to date is spaghetti squash. In fact, 1 cup of spaghetti squash noodles only has 42 calories, compared to about 200 calories for 1 cup of traditional pasta, according to the USDA National Nutrient Database.
