Vinyasa

Located on the 3rd floor of the Sixth Street Community Center, Sixth Street Yoga Junction is a new yoga studio in the East Village.  The mission of the studio is to offer affordable, vinyasa based yoga classes for all levels. With the belief that yoga should be accessible to all, this "junction" is intended as a meeting point for the community as well as a joining of attention, body and breath within ourselves as we practice.

In 2001 we began our journey in the heart of New York City’s bustling Hell’s Kitchen district. Since then we’ve blossomed into a mecca for creative souls and others looking for a friendly place to practice yoga. Our 2 large sunny studios house a daily flow of Vinyasa Yoga classes, exciting workshops and teacher training programs. For your comfort, we also have a large changing area with 3 large bathrooms and a shower! We’ve welcomed more than 30,000 students into our family and trained almost 1,000 teachers. With a warm and comfortable space, students love to just hang out and chill.

Our classes are best described as vinyasa flow.  Our instructors come from an eclectic mix of backgrounds, bringing in ideas and teachings from several different schools.  We believe that every practitioner has his or her own valid reason to step on the mat, and we respect each person's individual experience.  We encourage you to adjust or modify your practice as you see fit. Yoga is a practice to benefit physical, mental, and spiritual health.  Nobody is "good" or "bad" at yoga.
