How & Why Dreams Come True: A Short Story

Earlier this week I cried after watching this clip of Marianne Williamson. I want to do what she’s doing, which is traveling around the world and inspiring people, but it’s clear to me that now is not the time for me to do something like that. My health will not allow me to travel all over creation and speak to large crowds. Because I’m not inspirationally speaking now, and I can’t foresee when I will, in my mind it means it won’t happen.

Moves to Inner Peace Series: Dance

This move defies the age, gender, social, and financial barriers of most exercises we know. It is a very accepting and inclusive type of movement; you need no equipment, fancy instructions or special skills to do it.

It’s merciful when you break the rules and it gives you a chance to express yourself. It’s ok, and it is recommended to do what your body tells you to do as the sound transports you to unexpected places.

Home-Made Khichadi Recipe

Khichadi is a traditional Indian dish that is both nutritious and easy for the body to digest. It is loaded with spices that cater to the balancing of all three doshas in Ayurveda, and is perhaps the most common staple in the practice due to its ability to improve overall health and detoxify the body. This is also a naturally gluten-free meal for those that are avoiding gluten in their diet. The combination of rice and lentils with ghee, spices and vegetables make this a balanced, beneficial and wholesome meal.

What You Will Need

Benefits of Yoga with Rock, Rap and Hip Hop Music

You’ve seen the classes before. They’re often listed as “Rock ‘n’ Roll Yoga” or another less zen-sounding name. Personally, I teach classes called “Namaslay” and “That Asana Though,” one with a rock playlist and the other featuring rap and hip hop. Of course, listening to pop music while working on your flow is far from traditional. It’s certainly not what the original practitioners of yoga envisioned when they came up with the asanas! However, almost nobody practices yoga in modern times like it was originally practiced. That’s okay!

Eating The Rainbow: Tips For Adding More Color To Your Plate

Rainbows are auspicious and always a delight to see, especially after a rainy day. The primary colors that comprise the rainbow -- red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet—can be seen all around us in the clothes we wear, the cars we drive, the art we enjoy and of course, in nature.

Healing: A Short Story

This is Honey and this is her story. Honey first came to the farm back in the winter of 2014. Her story doesn’t start in the happiest of ways, but it does get better, I promise. She was in pretty bad shape: she was cold, malnourished, emaciated, and had been shot in the hind leg.

The Healing Power Of Dance

Throughout the world, there are few common base themes or expressions that have served in the creation and conservation of every culture, and which have been carried from the beginning of our cultural development to still stand as equally important parts of modern life today. Amongst these there is perhaps one more personally powerful, fundamentally meaningful, and collective unifying expression than all others, hailing shared value to most each and every human, regardless of size, color, shape, class, or education in a special way - and that is dancing. This is the heart of embodiment.

3 Planting & Growing Experiments For Kids

Getting picky eaters to eat their fruits and veggies without a fuss can be a challenge. Peas, broccoli -- basically anything green -- looks unappealing and unappetizing. If it doesn't come smothered in ketchup, then it's not edible. It can be difficult to get kids to eat healthy, and even more difficult to explain why they need to.

Yoga Your Way: How to Stop Worrying and Love your Limits

I have a confession to make. In the not-so-distant past I was one of those yogis who irritates the ‘normal’ people in class. I would hang around for thirty minutes before class practicing my arm balances, I would do every single advanced posture in every class. If the teacher happened to include Crow Pose, you can bet I would be pressing from Crow to Handstand and back while most people were still struggling to lift their toes from the floor.
