Sustainability Skills Workshop: Carbon Farming and Soil Fertility

This Sustainability Skills Workshop focuses on various techniques for building soil fertility and the many benefits, especially on carbon sequestration, from these efforts.  This workshop will begin with an introduction to the basics of building soil fertility through soil stewardship and increasing organic matter, and include the carbon sequestering techniques of compost, mulch, holistic range management, biochar, agroforestry. We will practice hands-on building of vermi-compost bins to take home, that is suitable for non-land based apartment living.   Please arrive on time so we can get started and underway promptly.  COST: $15.00. Enrollment is limited. Priority is given to enrolled CU Boulder students. Non CU Boulder students are admitted on a space available basis for a higher fee.
