Sunday Afternoon Relaxation: Yoga Nidra for Healing and Wellbeing

Eastern practices of relaxation and meditation are gaining popularity everywhere in the world. These wisdom practices which lead to personal insights, healing and knowledge are available to us today. What was found to be effective then is still relevant today. Why is this? The human brain remains largely the same and our ability to find stillness, quiet, equanimity, balance and wellbeing still challenges. Yoga nidra is a practice of progressive relaxation to enter into a body based healing meditation. Highly relaxing and nourishing to every aspect of the body and mind. Yoga Nidra is an effortless state of being. It is not just a practice, but a form of awareness. Yoga Nidra is a beginner friendly practice. There is no need for flexibility, endurance or to be in good health.   Nidra means ‘yogic sleep’ or ‘sleep that is yoga’ but it is, in fact, not a sleep but an awakening. An awakening into your true nature. Yoga Nidra has been shown to be effective in helping with insomnia, stress reduction, acute and chronic conditions, anxiety, depression and overall dissatisfaction. This special session will be held on the first Sunday of each month 2:30 - 3:45 PM at Muse Yoga Studio, downtown Boise at 1317 Jefferson Street. $10.00 per person.
