“Solid as a rock, cool as a glimmering stream in the white moonlight; such is the essence of Kapha” ~Maya Tiwari
This Urban Ayurveda gathering will be a warm, community experience with tea, discussion, and reflection on our lifestyles and natural routines for the season. Winter, in Ayurveda, is associated with an increase of Kapha qualities (heavy, cool, slow, dense, smooth, stable, cloudy, oily, soft)According to Ayurveda, when Kapha is in balance it promotes strength, stability, and a healthy immune system. Balanced Kapha energy is also associated with joy, devotion, and love.
This is a time to set yourself up for self-nourishment and winter wellness. The experience of harmonizing with the season is rooted in the Ayurvedic concept Ritucharya (seasonal routine). In this workshop, we’ll not only discuss the benefits of creating your seasonal routine (balancing energy, and increasing resilience, productivity, and happiness)—we’ll also offer you practical components to create your own unique, life-enhancing practice. This will include lifestyle tips, journaling prompts, discussions of winter nutrition and recipes, and daily rhythms. After the two hour workshop, we will spend a half hour connecting and creating community over tea.
You will come away with an actionable routine (and a take-home recipe booklet!) that aligns with your current lifestyle and encourages new, healthy habits.
