Dreamcatchers are a fascinating Native American tradition. There are many versions of the dreamcatcher legend, but according to the tradition, when hung above your place of sleep the dreamcatcher will absorb your dreams. All the good dreams will be passed on to the sleeper while the bad ones are caught in the webbing and destroyed at the first light of the morning sun.
To honor this tradition we have created a Dreamcatcher CraftJam with a modern spin, where you can build a dreamcatcher to guard your night. This CraftJam is all about freeing your mind, relaxing and creating something meaningful to you.
In this class, you will learn:
The origin of dreamcatchers
What materials are used
How to weave your dreamcatcher
How to decorate your dreamcatcher
The meaning of different decoration materials
We will have all the supplies ready to build your personal dreamcatcher including hoop, suede , webbing material, and feathers, ribbons and beads for decoration. You can also bring personal objects and decorations you’d like to incorporate in your dreamcatcher to make it more personal and meaningful to you.
Also, we are BYOB friendly, so bring a drink of your choice.
Please note: supplies may vary based on availability.
