Additionally, (4) highly focused breakouts, with distinguished facilitators in each sessions. Each panel member being well respected clinicians and allied health professionals with expertise in their specific subject matter. General session will bring to the forefront, the extent of Nevada’s challenges, vulnerable populations, relationships, risk factors. Inherent links, depression, (link to substance abuse) self- medicating, the anxiety link and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to: Participate in panel facilitated, breakout sessions Participate in a candid, caring exchange of ideas and valued lessons learned Understand how preventative screening models can be use to identify at-risk individuals and establish care plans that allocate resources effectively and identify steps taken to implement a comprehensive screening program in a state, community or agency Increase learning of assessment of suicidal risk, treatment plan options and therapeutic plan approaches Stay-up-to date on the latest guidelines, emerging best practices and practical strategies to prevent suicide. Her focus on preventing death by suicide and reducing the stigma associated with mental illness has brought relief to those suffering in silence around the world.     Hands-On Workshop " The Nuts and Bolts That Will Help You Save Lives, Streamline Workloads and Reduce Liability" Learning Objectives: Explain how preventative screening models can be used to identify at-risk individuals and establish care plans that allocate resources effectively and identify steps taken to implement a comprehensive screening program in a state, community or agency. Describe how utilizing a systemic best practice measurement, the C-SSRS, to identify suicidal ideation and behavior results in improved safety monitoring, identification, and precision, which ultimately aids prevention. Demonstrate how the C-SSRS impacts care through operationalized criteria for next steps which in turn facilitates more streamlined triage, redirects scarce resources facilitates care delivery to those at highest risk and provides liability protection.   “Compassion Fatigue and Resiliency” Dr. Alexis Kennedy, Ph.D./ J.D. Associate Professor, University of Nevada, Las Vegas Dr. Kennedy has facilitated and conducted research for a number of Clark County task forces including initiatives on human trafficking, juvenile delinquency, child abuse and sex offender management. She conducts research for specialty courts, child protective services and non-profit service agencies in Las Vegas. Dr. Kennedy also serves as an active mentor and board member for national and local non-profits. She is a frequent trainer on child abuse and human trafficking, speaking to criminal justice, mental health, medical and community based organizations.     Panel Facilitated Breakout Sessions Panel breakouts are organized and facilitated by local specialists to address vulnerable groups or key resources; Veterans, LGBTQ community, School Based andHuman Trafficking. Panel breakout sessions will draw together key evidence, resources and planning tools to support participants to: Understand and recognize the different risk factors Understand and recognize sign and symptoms and ways that communications can support suicide prevention planning and practices Develop “Best Practices” that support suicide prevention action locally and understand ways to engage and mobilize their networks (including those with lived experience) Be aware of resources to support community conversations about suicide Understand the role of the media and ways to engage the media in suicide prevention The critical importance of primary care’s role in aiding an enabling interactive patient dialogue Provide a training opportunity for primary care physicians and health professionals to update their knowledge and skill bank in identifying suicide risk behavior   Registration: Tickets must be purchased under attendees name if attendee is receiving CEU'S or CME's.
