Building Connection Through Massage with Heather Duplaisir

A Hand and Foot Focused Workshop For Copuples and Pairs   Massage is a healing way to create a caring bond between two people. Hand and footmassage is both easy to learn and can essentially be practiced anywhere. This three hour workshop is designed to enhance your connection to your partner through the sense of touch. Emphasis will be on hearing with the hands, asking for what you need, and taking the time to truly connect with your partner. We will go over anatomy, techniques, tools, and the myriad of benefits as well as any precautions to take when giving and receiving this form of massage. Workshop will include discussion, demonstration, hands-on guidance, and plenty of time for practice.   Heather Duplaisir Bio: Heather Duplaisir is a Certified Massage Therapist, Reiki practioner and Aromatherapist who has been practicing for over 17 years. She integrates several modalities from both Eastern and Western healing philosophies into her practice, including Swedish, deep tissue, Shiatsu, Thai and hot stone. Her focus is on connection and intuitive healing through massage and touch. She currently has a practice in Fairfax at Dragon Heart Healing Arts. She also founded of Healing Water Journeys, a sustainable company which offers workshops, retreats and journeys to explore holistic practices such as massage, reiki and aromatherapy, as well as the benefits of hot springs, and nature. She has a Master of Science in Recreation from San Francisco State University where her focus was on sustainable tourism. She is also a lead author of a textbook on sustainable tourism, “The Good Company: Sustainability in Tourism, Hospitality and Wine” (2015).   Cost: $40 single, $75 pair. Class size is limited to 30 people to ensure equipment and individualized instruction. If you come single, you may choose to observe the hands-on portion, or be paired with another student to practice.
