She thoroughly enjoys connecting with clients & plant spirits through her product offerings, the art of healing touch & the teachings of Ayurveda. Leah is a firm proponent of the notion that everyone who applies Ayurvedic principles to their lives empowers themselves to be their own healer. Leah feels honored to be a channel for sharing this wisdom with the modern world. She dreams that one day all families will raise their children with the principals of Ayurveda & that the world will find healing solace through each individual’s cultivation of personal balance.
5 Questions, Answered From Leah
Describe yourself in three words:
Compassionate, Kind & Determined
What is the greatest challenge you have overcome/are overcoming?
The greatest challenge with owning my own business can be that the to-do list is neverending. There is always something that can be done to grow the business to where we would like it to be.
What is unique to you about your work?
PAAVANI offers ancient Ayurveda to the modern world through small-batch, pure, organic, plant-based health and skincare products formulated with the traditions of Ayurveda. Each product is formulated to honor a different dosha, or elemental energy, based on the idea that we all have varying needs. We stand behind the philosophy, that what is harmonious for one may not be for another. This is a concept that plays a significant role in the fundamental roots of Ayurveda. Through understanding & honoring our individual needs, we nurture the cultivation of health & beauty from within.
How do you guide clients into their own healing/inner freedom?
I believe that when it comes to self-care, creating daily rituals to honor & love the mind, body & skin will cultivate optimal wellbeing. PAAVANI products are intended to connect people to becoming a part of the self-care process. From empowering people to have the option to create their ideal skincare line to connecting our product’s users to the plants & minerals in which they are made from, to encouraging each other to make space in our days for the necessary ritual of self-care. By creating awareness around how we take care of ourselves & how we relate to the elements of the world, we rediscover our interconnection with the natural world & its rhythmic cycle.
What tools have you found least/most effective in your work?
I have found that education is key in helping to spread the knowledge and wisdom of Ayurveda. Workshops, demos, writing articles and vending have all been helpful tools for us to share these teachings and our products with the world.
I have also found that when owning your own business it is important to have boundaries with work. As mentioned above, the to-do list is endless when you are growing your own company and it can sometimes be hard to stop working on tasks when you are passionate about what you do. Yet, I have learned the hard way that overworking leads to burn out which is completely unsustainable in the long run.
