Jenna Furnari
For a better part of her life, Jenna Furnari has been devoted to the practice and study of Ayurveda, yoga and holistic means of living and functioning. From the very beginning of her four year practitioner and master of arts course at Mount Madonna College of Ayurveda, her attention has been focused primarily on working with women in the world of prenatal and postpartum. She recently has been blessed with her first child, Vincent, and after going through the 4th trimester with the loving support she is so grateful to have received, it is clearer to her than ever that this work is more important than she ever imagined.
Jenna's education and hands-on experience includes a one-on-one summer clinical work in Nepal with Dr. Sarita Shrestha, Nepal’s first Ayurvedic OB/GYN specializing in women’s healthcare; completion of the Ayurveda Certificate Course and Master of Arts course at Mount Madonna Institute; recognition under National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) as Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner; postpartum care training and AyurDoula course work through Sacred Window School. At Mount Madonna College of Ayurveda, her research and peer reviewed thesis was completed on Preparing the Body for Conception through the Practice of Ayurveda. Over the past 10 years she has helped countless clients with the use of herbs, diet, lifestyle practices, yoga, and holistic guidance.
As an Ayurvedic Postpartum Specialist, her personal mission is to reach as many women as possible with complete support through their 42 day journey following entry into motherhood. She has seen - both personally and professionally - that the first 6 weeks postpartum is perhaps the most important time for mother and baby. Positive patterns that last a lifetime are set and deep bonding becomes accessible when care when its practiced properly. Ayurveda teaches that the first 42 days after delivery influence a woman’s health and ability to mother well for the next 42 years. Jenna considers her greatest work to be raising her own son, as well as providing loving, nourishing support and care for new mothers in their First 42 Days.
