Create Your Own All-Natural Electrolyte Drinks

Electrolyte beverages can help beat summer heat by replenishing essential minerals and fluids when your body needs significant rehydration. Electrolytes are minerals imperative for healthy muscle action and proper nerve function. When you sweat not only do you deplete fluids but you also expend essential minerals known as electrolytes.

If you have a tendency to become dehydrated electrolyte beverages provide a fast delivery of minerals to boost hydration levels. However, most commercial drinks are laden with sugar and additives. Try these drinks instead! These refreshing drinks are energizing using all-natural ingredients. Each drink is citrus fruit based for its powerful antioxidants and richness in minerals.

All drinks can be stored in a refrigerator for up to a week.

Coconut Water

You might think this one’s cheating since it’s just one ingredient, but coconut water is an absolute staple to athletes everywhere and makes an invigorating start or finish to any workout.  Coconut water is filled with essential rehydration-boosting nutrients: potassium, magnesium, zinc, calcium, and vitamin C. Coconut water on its own is an excellent choice for helping the body to better cope with stress. Enhance your coconut water with the addition of citrus! (See next recipe…)
