5 Vegan “Pie” Smoothies That Taste Just Like Dessert

Why not have your pie and drink it too? In the health food world, the smoothie is revered as the fastest and easiest way to get in your fruits and veggies. But what if there was more to the smoothie than guzzling down vitamins? Why not try a liquefied dessert? I'm talking about smoothies that taste like pie!

Here are 5 delicious vegan “pie” smoothies. The flavors are uncanny; I couldn't believe it! It's important to use roasted almonds as this adds to the “fresh baked crust” taste. The great part is that you can drink these liquefied pies, say...for breakfast, and you will still be taking in those vital nutrients only a smoothie can provide. Apple Pie

Classic Apple Pie the way it was meant to be enjoyed, from a glass!

1 cored and peeled apple (gala or spartan)

1/4 cup toasted almonds (best if you toast yourself)

1 1/2 cups almond milk

1 frozen banana

1 tbsp maple syrup

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

Squeeze of lemon

Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high until combined.

Pumpkin Pie

Adding cloves really gives this smoothie that authentic pumpkin pie filling taste.

1/2 cup pumpkin puree

1 frozen banana

1 1/2 cups almond milk

1 tbsp maple syrup

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/4 tsp cloves

Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high until combined.

Key Lime Pie

The lime zest really adds a tangy and sweet flavor to this drink.

1/2 an avocado

1 frozen banana

1 1/2 cups almond milk

Juice of 1/2 a lime

Zest of 1 lime

1 tbsp maple syrup (or other liquid sweetener)

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Toasted coconut

Combine all ingredients except for toasted coconut in blender. Blend on high until combined. Pour into glass and top with toasted coconut.

Banana Cream Pie

This is an intensely creamy smoothie! If you're a banana fan, give this one a go!

1/4 cup toasted cashews

1/4 cup shredded coconut

1 cup almond or coconut milk

2 frozen bananas

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Squeeze of lemon

Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high until combined.

Blueberry Pie

Blueberry pie rarely gets the spotlight, but in smoothie form it's a real treat!

1/2 an avocado

1 frozen banana

2/3 cup frozen blueberries

1 tbsp maple syrup (or other liquid sweetener)

1 1/2 cups almond milk

Squeeze of lemon

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high until combined.
